KABUL: Former President, Hamid Karzai was saddened by the civilian casualties and displacements caused by the intensive clashes between government forces and Taliban militants, calling it a tragedy for every Afghan.
He thanked those “Afghans who assisted their displaced country-fellows”, and called on the national traders and particularly the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan to provide aid to displaced and suffering people in different parts of the country.
The former president once again called on Afghan war parties to pay serious attention to lives of civilians and abandon war to save and secure their people’s lives through peace negotiations.
