KABUL: Former President, Hamid Karzai strongly condemned terrorist attacks in the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Republic of India.
A suicide bomber targeted a bus carrying officers of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps Wednesday in the southeastern province of Sistan and Baluchestan, killing 27 officers and wounding 13 more.
Another suicide attack hit Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir region on Thursday in which more than 40 were killed.
“I have repeatedly emphasized that foreign hands are keep the war aflame in Afghanistan to reach their goals,” Karzai said Friday in a statement. “If the regional countries do not cooperate with each other to fight terrorism and extremism, such problems will finally catch them. Unfortunately, we see today that negative impacts of terrorism are facing them.”
He expressed hope that the neighboring countries pay attention that security of the neighboring countries are tied to each other, calling on them to help each other in the peace process in Afghanistan that would result peace and stability in the whole region.
