AT-KABUL: Former President Hamid Karzai has strongly condemned attack on German consulate in Mazar-i-Sharif, the capital city of northern Balkh province.
“I strongly condemn the last night (Thursday night) terrorist attack on the German consulate. The attack on the friendly country also resulted casualties of some civilians,” Karzai was quoted in a statement issued by his office. Moreover, he termed the attack against all human and international principles.
Terming relations between Afghanistan and Germany historic and brotherly, the former president said that such attacks would never put a negative impact on relations between the two countries.
He termed Germany’s role significant in reconstruction of Afghanistan, and said that Afghans appreciates Berlin’s “admirable and comprehensive support”.
The former President wished paradise for the martyrs, rapid recovery to the wounded and patience for the victim families.
