Kabul: Hamid Karzai, the former president of Afghanistan, visited London in a five-day trip.

Sayed Tayeb Javad, the former ambassador of Afghanistan, said that Mr. Karzai met with Charles III, the King of England, the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and the special representative of the Prime Minister, and a number of Afghans in London.

The former ambassador of Afghanistan in London said that Mr. Karzai had meetings with a number of political figures and officials of the former government of Afghanistan.

The BBC quoted Mr. Javad as saying that the main focus of the former Afghan president’s talks “was to facilitate intra-Afghan talks between the Taliban and the groups opposed to them.”
