AT-KABUL: Former President Hamid Karzai expressed happiness and congratulated the nation for the victory of the national cricket team against Zimbabwe.
The Afghan national cricketers won a series of five matches (3-2) the last decider held Sunday night with the Zimbabwean team. Afghan team won 106 runs in which all Zimbabwean players were out.
“Karzai calls the victory as a big achievement, expressing hope that the national cricketers will shine in the future and gain more honors for Afghanistan,” his office said in a statement.
