AT-KABUL: Former President Hamid Karzai expressed his deep grief over the demise of Fidel Castro, former leader and president of Cuba, who passed away at the age of 90 due to an illness he was suffering from.
“Fidel Castro was one of the pioneers of the non-aligned movement and was a symbol of freedom and humanity,” Karzai was quoted by a statement as saying.
The ex-president said he (Castro) fought tenaciously against colonialism and exploitation and gave a lot of sacrifices to took independence of Cuba.
Karzai extended his heartfelt condolences to the brave family and people of Cuba, saying that his death was a great loss.
