Kabul: Paul Klouman Bekken, the charge d’affaires of Norway to Afghanistan, met with former President Hamid Karzai on Wednesday to address the prevailing situation in the nation. During the discussion, Bekken emphasized the importance of reopening schools and universities for girls. In response, Karzai stressed the essential requirement for national consensus to achieve enduring peace and stability in Afghanistan.
Norway stands out as one of the few countries maintaining diplomatic relations with the Afghan governing body and convening discussions on Afghanistan. Additionally, it periodically provides humanitarian assistance to the country.
