AT-KABUL: Former President Hamid Karzai who is visiting Germany has been invited to attend a symposium as a chief guest in 2016.
Karzai during his trip visited Bochum and Iserlohn cities of Germany and signed golden books there.
According to a press statement issued by his office on Wednesday, Karzai attended a ceremony organized by Business and Information Technology School (BiTS) in Iserlohn city, Germany. The ceremony was held to provide information about a symposium which will be held by the school in 2016.
Karzai accepted the invitation to participate in the symposium as a chief guest.
Thanking Germany for supporting Afghanistan during past 13 years, the ex-president called on German investors to invest in Afghanistan.
Former National Security Advisor Rangin Dadfar Spanta accompanies Karzai in the trip.
The Kaspos Symposium is an academic event which is held every two years. Former US President Bill Clinton, former UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan and former British Prime Minister Tony Blair have attended previous sessions of the symposium.
