KABUL: Former president Hamid Karzai on Monday flew to China to attend a conference on the Afghan peace process, his office said.
“The former president was formally invited by the Shanghai Institute for International Studies to attend the peace conference,” his spokesman Yousuf Sahar said.
He said Karzai would speak to the Shanghai Institute international conference on the Afghan peace drive.
Karzai is accompanied by ex-culture minister Karim Khurram and former national security advisor Rangin Dadfar Spanta.
The former president has paid several visits to China. Foreign Minister Salahuddin Rabbani arrived in China on Sunday for an official visit. (PAN)
