Karzai, mainstream political parties for holding a grand gathering on elections

AT-KABUL: Former President Hamid Karzai and 28 political parties in a meeting have reached unanimity to hold a national gathering over the forthcoming parliamentary and district council elections.

Representatives from political parties met Karzai at his office and conferred on the 20thOctober election. Karzai supported their views over multi-dimensional representation electoral system, vowing to have representation in committee of attending political parties.

The political parties agreed with Karzai to hold a national session with the aim of fighting fraud during the election.

The meeting and agreement come ahead of the parliamentarian election this year and the presidential election slated for next year.
