KABUL: Former President Hamid Karzai met with some Afghan women entrepreneurs on Wednesday in capital Kabul.
The former president’s office said in a statement, that the women entrepreneur shared their concerns about the existing hurdles ahead of their businesses.
“In this meeting, the women entrepreneur talked about their problems, obstacles in trades, economic meltdown in the country, deactivation of the banking system and called for the resumption of their business activities,” the statement read.
Karzai pledged to provide any kind of possible support to remove the hurdles ahead of the women’s business and pave the ground for reactivation of their business activities. Karzai hoped that the women can have access to all type of activities in all aspects, thus playing their role in a developed Afghanistan.
According to the statement, the women also stressed that the Afghan assets that remain in the US bank in reserve belong to the Afghan nation and therefore the assets should be returned to Afghanistan.
