AT-KABUL: Former President Hamid Karzai on Sunday met with the Russian ambassador to Afghanistan Alexander Mantytski in his office.
In the meeting, the two sides discussed the current situation in Afghanistan and the region.
Karzai appreciated the “constructive role” of Russian Federation, its support of the Afghan rehabilitation and Moscow’s interest for peace and stability in the country.
Karzai called war and terrorism dangerous for the region, adding that Russia’s assistance was effective beside other neighboring and regional countries to bring the Taliban to peace process.
Russian ambassador said his country would continue support for Afghanistan and emphasized that Moscow would continue efforts to help Afghans in restoring peace to Afghanistan.
