Kabul: The former president of Afghanistan, Hamid Karzai, expresses his deep regret on the decision of the Taliban to close the doors of universities to girls.
Hamid Karzai considers the country’s development, settlement and self-sufficiency to be dependent on the education of every child, girl and boy. Blocking education not only harms the development and well-being of Afghanistan, but it will also make our country face more poverty and foreign dependency.
The former president calls on Taliban to open the doors of universities, schools and educational institutions to girls as soon as possible to ensure the prosperity of the present and future generations and the national interests of the country.
Meanwhile, sources close to Hamid Karzai, the former president of Afghanistan, confirmed to that Mr. Karzai returned to Kabul today (Wednesday) after a trip abroad.
The former president traveled to UAE, Germany and recently to turkey where he met a number of Afghan politicians and discussed the Afghanistan situation.
