KABUL: Condolences continued to pour in to Afghanistan after at least 1,000 victims lost their lives and more than 1,500 others were injured in a powerful earthquake in eastern parts of the country.
Former President Hamid Karzai said he is deeply saddened by the loss of life and destruction to property in the wake of an earthquake in Paktika, Khost and other parts of the country and expressed solidarity with families of the victims.
The former president also offered his condolences to the families affected by the severe floods in different parts of the country. He called on all charities and national businesses in the country to reach out to the families affected by the disaster.
The United States Embassy also offered its condolences to the quake victims.

Meanwhile, the Indian Ministry of External Affairs has also expressed its condolences to the victims of the earthquake in Afghanistan.
