AT-KABUL: Former President, Hamid Karzai reacted for the killing of the security forces in the recent incidents in the provinces of Helmand and Badakhshan.
“Dear country-fellows! My frequent stance and opposition against the air bombardments in our soil were that only and only Afghan people suffer from these bombardments that affect our houses and lands,” he said Sunday in a statement.
Karzai said that such bombardments do not help bringing peace, but further extends war, causing more casualties of Afghans.
“We have been frequently witnessing that the victims of these bombardments are our security forces and civilian people. One example was the incidents in Helmand’s Gereshk district. The second example was in Badakhshan’s Tagab district, where a number of our police forces were martyred by Taliban,” said the former president.
“Only Afghan people’s measure can save the country from this devastating war.”
Karzai extended “deep condolences and sympathies” to the victims of the recent attacks, wishing paradise for the killed and quick recovery for the injured.
