KABUL – In a significant boost to trade ties, Kyrgyzstan has dramatically increased its gasoline exports to Afghanistan by 27 times in the first seven months of 2024, according to the National Statistical Committee.
The country shipped a total of 19,300 liters of gasoline to Afghanistan, earning $8.9 million in revenue. In stark contrast, during the same period last year, Kyrgyzstan exported only 700,000 liters, generating just $317,000.
With 84% of Kyrgyzstan’s gasoline exports now headed to Afghanistan, the average price per liter for these shipments was recorded at $0.5.
This dramatic rise highlights growing energy cooperation between the two nations as Afghanistan becomes a dominant buyer of Kyrgyz gasoline.
