KABUL: A hand grenade attack on Logar governor’s house left three policemen wounded, said an official source on Sunday. New provincial council members were swearing-in in the building when a man hurled the grenade, the source added.
Afghan forces arrested the attacker, when he was trying to enter the building. Security officials in the province said that the attacker wanted disrupted the oath-talking ceremony. A pistol was also recovered from the assailant, they added. The attacker wanted to target newly-elected PC members. Security forces said that they were interrogating the assailant to find out who was behind the attack.
After that the Independent Election Commission (IEC) announced final results the provincial council elections, tens of losing candidates protests across the country. Some of the protesting candidates in Kabul warned to disrupted oath-taking ceremony of the wining candidates.
