AT-KABUL: A man shot dead seven of his family members in southern Zabul province, said a local official on Sunday.
Zabul police chief, Gholam Jailani Farahi, said that a man identified as Ehsanullah killed seven of his family members early on Friday morning. Farahi said that the assailant was suffering from mental problems. “After killing seven of his family members, Ehsanullah fled the scene. However, he was later killed in police firing,” he added.
Farahi said that it was not clear what had prompted the attacker to kill his family members.
Another source in the province said that the attacker was a drug addicted who was recently released from prison.
