AT-KABUL: The Meshrano Jirga or Upper House of the Parliament strongly denounced the US drone strike on a funeral in the southeastern Khost province and asked the government to investigate the tragic incident.
Deputy Chairman of the Meshrano Jirga, Muhammad Alam Ezidyar, on Sunday strongly condemned the US drone strike in Khost province. He said that the drone strikes were killing more innocent people than armed insurgents.
He said the US drone attacks over civilians would strengthen the anti-government forces as public would start hating the United States and the Afghan government more than the militants.
Senators asked the government to investigate the attack. They also urged the US forces in Afghanistan to restrain from killing innocent people.
At least 34 civilian were killed and several others wounded as a result of a drone strike on Friday in Khost province.
