AT Monitoring Desk-KABUL: Unknown armed men blew up a school in Sherina Taqab district of northern Faryab province, an official said on Tuesday.
Condemning the anti-education elements, Provincial Education Director, Ahmadullah Arab, said that such activities won’t stop Afghans from getting education.
The unidentified men blew up the school building using explosives. However, no casualty was reported. Over 1,000 students are enrolled at the school and attended classed even after the blast, he said, adding, “Such acts of insurgents will not prevent schoolchildren from going to school.”
The provincial police chief, Brig. Gen Abdul Nabi Alham, alleged the Taliban insurgents of blowing up the school.
No insurgent group including the Taliban has claimed responsibility for placing explosives in the school. This is not the first incident as militants in the past had also torched and blown up schools across the country.
