Afghan forces kill up to 17 Taliban rebels in Ghazni

KABUL: In the past 24 hours, two civilians were shot dead and 17 Taliban fighters were killed in operations carried out by the Afghan security forces in southern Ghazni province.
Taliban militants dragged two civilians from a vehicle and gunned them down in Baran Kala area of Qarabagh district in Kabul-Kandahar highway, provincial official said.
The passengers were from Shahr-e-Kohna and Deh Yak district of Ghazni, mentioned statement.
Moreover, at least 17 Taliban were killed and six others wounded during military operations in the province in the past 24 hours.
A statement issued by Press Disk said that Afghan Special Forces conducted operation in Jahangeer, Hazrat Shah and Suni areas of Gilan and Andar districts, which supported by air forces that killed 15 Taliban insurgents and two drug smugglers.
According to the statement, five armed rebels were wounded, six motorbike and two vehicle garage repairing of the enemy destroyed during crackdowns.
