KABUL: Afghan Mixed Martial Art (MMA) champion Ahmad Wali Hotak was severely injured after he was stabbed multiple times in his abdomen by unknown gunmen in Kabul Sunday night.
Five men armed with firearms and knives attacked the free fighter champion Ahmad Wali Hotak last night in Bagrami area at around 11:10pm, according to his aide.
Hotak and his friends were invited to a Wolesi Jirga election candidate who later went to his friends’ house in Bagrami the 12th PD to fare well.
He was expected to leave for Russia to attend a competition on Monday, but during returning in front ofhis house in the mentioned area faced unknown men attack and severely injured from abdomen area.
Currently Mr. Hotak is under treatment in emergency hospital and his health condition reported well.
At the same time in a statement Ministry of Interior (MoI), Minister of Interior ordered to Kabul anti-crime branch police forces to investigate the case seriously and bring the perpetrators of the attack over Hotak free fighter before justice.
Spokesman of Olympic Committee Aref Paiman expressed deepest concern due to attack over Hotak MMA champion and asked related organs to investigate the incident seriously.
It is pertained to mention that Hotak is 31 years old, who has records of eight free fighting competitions, with one lose and seven win.
