AT-KABUL: The Ministry of Interior (MoI) named Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fighter, Baz Mohammad Mobariz, 27, as police ambassador, to encourage people to lend their support to Afghan National Police (ANP). Mobariz will represent ANP in international MMA events.
Seddiq Seddiqi, spokesman for the MoI, said that the ministry appointed Mobariz as ambassador to raise morale of police force.
Speaking at a press conference here on Wednesday, Seddiqi appreciated Mobariz’s decision to support ANP and asked all Afghan masses to support their security forces.
Mobariz expressed his great pleasure over becoming police ambassador and said that he will be representing ANP in his fights in the future.
“I will be representing ANP in my fight against Russian rival on 20th December in Tajikistan,” he added.
He said that during fight against his German rival in Thailand on 22nd August he represented ANP.
He said that he would also start workout programs for Afghan troops.
Baz Muhammad Mobariz is a professional MMA fighter, who has clinched two belts.
