AT-KABUL: The Ministry of Finance (MoF) on Wednesday referred the draft of the next year’s budget to the Wolesi Jirga (Lower House) of parliament for approval.
The draft included both ordinary and development budget, which would be funded through domestic income and donations.
Finance Minister Eklil Hakimi, said that 117 big and small projects of education, healthcare, agriculture, economic, rural development and infrastructure are included in the fiscal budget.
He said that the projects will be implemented in 34 provinces across the country.
“The government focused more on the security, infrastructure, education and healthcare sectors at the frame of next year budget,” Hakimi added.
Pointing to Brussels commitments, minister informed of implementation of projects anti-corruption and reforms.
Minister asked Wolesi Jirga to approve the fiscal budget to the government able to implement the project on time across the country.
According to report the Meshrano Jirga (Upper House) of Parliament received the proposed budget recently and, sent it back to the ministry with certain recommendations.
It is pertained to mention that after disqualify of number of minister over their failure in spending last year development budget in outgoing fiscal year, the Wolesi Jirga assigned redline to not approve next year’s fiscal budget till new nominees not introduced instead of dismissed ministers.
