AT Monitoring Desk-KABUL: Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) said that they have registered 35 suspected cases of Congo virus since beginning of the current year.
Spokesman for the health ministry, Wahidullah Mayar, told Radio Azadi that they have registered 10 positive cases in Herat, Nangarhar and Kabul. Eight patients died while battling the Congo virus.
The virus is transmitted to humans from animals and insects. Mayar said that last year the virus took lives of three people.
Symptoms of the Congo virus are: headache, fever, backache, sore throat, redness of eyes and sadness. The spokesman urged public to visit the nearest hospital if they see or feel any symptom of the virus.
