AT kabul: The Afghan Ministry of Interior has reported the installation of over 80,000 CCTV cameras in Kabul, the capital city. According to the ministry’s spokesperson, these cameras have been instrumental in preventing numerous criminal incidents. Efforts are ongoing to expand the installation of cameras throughout both the capital and the provinces. Residents have expressed support for this initiative but emphasize the importance of ensuring the cameras remain operational. They also urge the interim government to extend CCTV coverage to other provinces. Military experts highlight the significance of CCTV cameras in enhancing security conditions, both for crime investigation and citizens’ peace of mind. Previously, the Ministry of Interior had announced the installation of more than 62,000 CCTV cameras in Kabul.
