KABUL: First Deputy of Afghanistan’s Prime Minister Mullah Baradar met with the Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in Doha on Monday evening and discussed ongoing political and economic situation in Afghanistan.
Taliban’s spokesperson Zabiullah Mujahid said Mullah Baradar is leading a government delegation and met with Chinese Foreign Minister and his delegation.
He said acting foreign minister Amir Khan Motaqi is also preparing to hold two-day talks with the Chinese delegation in the Qatari capital. “Both sides will be discussing vital bilateral issues,” he said in a statement.
Earlier, Mullah Baradar had met with the administrator of the UNDP Achim Steiner. The meeting was focused on Afghanistan’s current situation and poverty and the UNDP administrator had pledged to provide the people of Afghanistan with humanitarian aid.
