Kabul: After more than two decades since the United States invaded Afghanistan under the pretext of the September 11 attacks and the establishment of democracy, the people of Afghanistan and 12 other Muslim countries believe that the United States does not seek the development of democracy in the region and does not allow the people to shape their political future as they want.
According to a survey conducted by Gallup, 61% of Afghan people believe that U.S. is not seeking to establish democracy in the region, 14% believe that U.S. is committed to democracy, and the rest have no opinion on this.
In response to another question, 61 percent of the Afghan participants in this survey stated that the United States does not give the countries of the region the right to determine their own destiny and build their own political future, 15 percent considered the United States to be committed to the right to determine the fate of the countries in the region, and the rest also expressed no opinion about this.
According to Gallup’s findings, 67% of Afghans believe that Washington is not committed to improving the economic situation of the people of the region, 14% consider America to be committed and the rest say they have no opinion.
The survey was conducted in Iran, Turkey, Tunisia, Palestine, Iran, Yemen, Lebanon, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Libya, Jordan, Kuwait and Morocco.
