KABUL: The former speaker of the government’s senate, Fazal Hadi Muslimyar urged the Islamic Emirate to engage in negotiations with its rivals.
He suggested that the Afghans are tired of the looming waves of war in Afghanistan.
“They (Islamic Emirate) should negotiate and sit down with its armed opposition, even if it is a small group –under the name of national resistance. There is no benefit to war,” he said.
He also denied the rumors about ban on his travel to abroad, saying that he visited the UAE for medical treatment.
“A person who is the third person in a system or who is the head of a pillar of a government (senate)–it is natural that he may have some problems. No one officially has told me that you cannot go abroad,” he said.
The former speaker of the house of Senate welcomed the establishment of the commission to facilitate the return of the influential Afghan leaders to the country.
With the Islamic Emirate swept into power, many Afghan politicians left the country including the former president, Ashraf Ghani and his close aides.
