KABUL: At least two civilians lost their lives and 18 more received injuries after a roadside mine went off in eastern Nangarhar province on Wednesday morning, sources said.
The blast occurred at around 06:30 morning hours in Jalalabad, the provincial capital city.
“The explosion occurred when the Afghan security forces were passing from the area,” the source added.
Some members of the Afghan security forces were also wounded in the blast, but the civilians suffered more, it added.
No group including the Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack. But the Daesh extremist group is very much active in the province and had recently claimed responsibility of an armed attack killing three female reporters of a local tv channel.
