AT-KABUL: The National Directorate of Security (NDS) has arrested seven Taliban insurgents in southern Kandahar province.
A press statement issued by the NDS here on Sunday said that its operatives have arrested seven Taliban insurgents. The spy agency has recovered ammunition, a transmission set, AK47 assault rifles and other equipment believed to be used in terrorist activities from the Taliban fighters during an operation in Kandahar city.
The group of the seven Taliban militants was involved in several terrorist activities including planting of landmines and assassination of tribal elders and religious scholars in Kandahar city, the NDS said.
The spy agency on Saturday arrested the Taliban’s shadow district chief, Ajmal, with three other terrorists in eastern Nangarhar province.
