AT-KABUL: Oppertives of the National Directorate of Security (NDS) arrested two people for allegedly killing government officials, ulema and tribal elders in western Herat province.
The NDS in a press statement said that the arrested men have recently killed a staffer of the spy agency in Pashtun Zarghoon district and were also involved in subversive activities in the province.
The statement added that the arrested men have confised their crime. It said that the two target killers were arrested in special operation conducted by opperatives of the NDS in Herat city.
This comes at a time that unidentified gunmen killed four employees of a private company in the same provicne.
The four persons were kidnapped by unknown gunmen in Gozara district of the prvince around a week ago and were killed the other day, said Ehsanullah Hayat, a spokesman for the provincial governor office.
