KABUL: Nearly 13 acres of lands have wiped out of opium cultivation by the security forces in Koot district of eastern Nangarhar province.
Koot’s chief district Najeebullah Rahmani said production of opium have come to zero level after these lands cleared from opium.
He said the security forces have destroyed these opium forms before, but some farmers secretly planted it again.
He appreciated the farmers for obeying the law and planting the “Halal” harvest in their forms, saying that he would try best to provide agriculture facilitation for them.
This comes as according to some officials the cooperation between Taliban and drug dealers have recently been increased in Afghanistan.
The officials of southern Helmand province say that drug dealers support the insurgents in a bid to protect drug factories because it counts as their sole source of income for their subversive activities.
