AT-KABUL: Criminal Justice Task Forces (CJTF) on Wednesday said that nine drug runners were arrested in different provinces of the country.
Counter Narcotics Police apprehended these traffickers in an operation carried in Kabul, Herat and Baghlan provinces in the past one week, CJTF said in a statement.
After investigation the detained smugglers’ dossiers would be handed over to CJTF court for criminal proceedings.
Some 568kg opium, 576,500kg chemical precursor, 212 and six rifle weapons recovered and confiscated from the abovementioned smugglers.
It is worth mentioning that Criminal Justice Task Force especial court has sentenced 121 drug traffickers to jail in the first quarter of this year.
