AT Monitoring Desk-KABUL: At least nine people were killed and several other received injuries after clashes erupted during Taliban leader Mullah Shakoor’s funeral ceremony in northern Parwan province, provincial source said.
The Taliban commander was reportedly killed in a mine explosion last week. He was recently appointed as the Taliban’s deputy shadow governor for the province.
The sources quoted by the Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty further added that the incident took place in Sayed Khel district, leaving at least nine dead and 15 others wounded.
Local provincial officials confirmed the incident, and said the security forces detained some people in the connection.
