AT-KABUL: Police officials have brushed away speculations that a mass grave has been discovered in capital Kabul, alleviating the panic among residents.

Recent speculations circulating on social media regarding discovery of a mass grave in capital Kabul are fabricated lies, said officials at the Criminal Investigation Department.

Such rumors have surfaced as some mass graves of civilians as well as terrorists had previously been found in Kabul and provinces. Although most of mass graves mostly belong to the civil war of 1990s, early this year a mass grave belonging to Daesh terroristswas discovered from the eastern Nangarhar province.

A gubernatorial spokesperson, AttaullahKhogyani, confirmed that the Afghan forces have discovered a new mass grave in Mamand Dara area of Achin district.He said the remnants of at least ten people were recovered from the grave and the victims were apparently those who were kidnapped from PacherAgam district fifteen months ago.
