AT Monitoring Desk-KABUL: Acting National Security Advisor, Atiqullah Nosher on Monday held meetings with the Executive Board of Da Afghanistan Bank and talked about the country’s economic, financial standing and prevention of outlaw of dollars from the country.
On Sunday Central Bank of Afghanistan (CBA) raised concerns about increase in US dollars smuggling to neighboring Iran and has warned the trend would further impact the value of the Afghani against foreign currency, especially US dollars.
However, NSA caretaker during meeting said a solemn investigation is underway into the outflow of dollars from Afghan borders and stressed ramping up surveillances along borders including those with Iran and Pakistan.
In the past one week, Afghan has lost its value against dollar that now one dollar stands to 76Afs or 78Afs.
However, CBA chairman Khalil Sediq termed current tension between Iran and US as big reason behind Dollars smuggling to Iran that has caused devolution in the Afghani currency
