Three suspects detained following Kabul attack
AT-KABUL: At least one woman was killed and 19 other civilians including four women were received injuries in a roadside bombing in the capital Kabul on Monday afternoon, security officials said.
“Kabul Police have arrested three suspects related to an explosion in Taimani area of Kabul, in which 19 civilians including 4 women wounded and one woman killed,” Spokesman to the Ministry of Interior, Sediq Sediqqi said in his twitter account.
Gen. Salim Almas, Kabul Police Crime Investigation Department, said that the Improvised Explosives Devices (IED) in shape of plastic barrel was placed in the roadside drainage in police district 10th Taiminai area. “The IED went off when a van carrying employees of Roshan, a private Telecommunication Company was passing the areas.” He also confirmed one woman killed, 19 others including four women wounded in the blast.
However, Spokesman for the Ministry of Public Health, Ismail Kawusi said all wounded people were shifted to the hospital and currently they are under medical treatment.
This comes as Kabul, the capital city has witnessed series of attacks in less than one month, leaving tens of people killed and wounded.
Last week more than 30 people were killed and more than 60 others wounded after attackers dressed as doctors stormed the largest military hospital in Kabul. The militants armed with guns and grenades gained entry after one detonated explosives in front of the gate paving ground for other three militants to entry to the hospital. After long-hour standoff, the Afghan security forces killed all the attackers.
However, it was a complicated attack as media reported that more than 10 people have been arrested in relation to the recent attack on Sardar Mohammad Daud Khan—military hospital in Kabul for which Daesh has responsibility for the attack.
