AT-KABUL: At least 100 insurgents were killed and 89 others wounded in different crackdowns conducted by the Afghan security forces across the country within past 24 hours, security officials said on Friday.
In a press release issued here, the Ministry of Defense, said that operations carried in several areas of Nangarhar, Ghazni, Paktia, Paktika, Kandahar, Uruzgan, Daikundi, Badghis, Takhar, Baghlan, Kunduz, Sar-i-Pul, Jawzjan, Balkh and Helmand provinces, in which more than 100 militants were killed and 89 other received injuries.
In a joint operation by Afghan Air Force, army, police and intelligence operatives 47 fighters were killed in Paktika, 24 in Kandahar, 18 in Logar and five in Paktika, the statement added. The rest militants were killed in other provinces.
Unfortunately, 15 Afghan National Army troopers were also killed during offensive, the ministry said.
“The Afghan security forces are making all-out efforts to enforce security across the country,” the statement added.
