KABUL: Officials in the independent election commission say that 11,000 voting centers had been allocated for women voters, but 1,450 of the centers lack female workers.
Mohammad Hanif Daneshyar, a member of the commission, said on Wednesday that these centers are in 21 provinces, but did not identify the provinces.
Daneshyar said that the commission did its best to hire female workers for the centers even until the past day, but all efforts failed.
He said that they hired older men who are trustable to the villagers to replace women in the centers.
Hawa Alam Nooristani, director of the election commission, said that taking photos by the biometric system on the election day was compulsory to prevent fraud.
She assured to prevent any fraud and corruption on the presidential election.
