AT-KABUL: The Ministry Rural Rehabilitation and Development (MRRD) on Sunday said that 9,077 welfare projects have been implemented across the country in the past 12 months of the solar year.
“The schemes were implemented at a total cost of $245.2 million in 6,326 villages of 326 districts throughout the country,” said MRRD in a statement.
The projects included construction and asphalted of road, water supplies and irrigation system, providing energy to the villages, construction of health clinics and schools in 34 provinces throughout the country, added the statement.
Statement said that the ministry also has run alternative programs for poor and needy people in agriculture and handicrafts fields in different provinces.
By implementation of aforementioned schemes short and long-term job created for 750,000 people in villages and districts of the country, noted statement.
The ministry also through work for peace program had rehabilitated 122,134 projects at a total cost of $82 million in 34 provinces, which through 650,000 people were granted with job opportunities.
MRRD also has implemented 86,000 projects through 14 years National Solidarities Program (NSP) in the country. The NSP projects also included construction of roads, schools, health clinics, water supplies and irrigation system and providing solar energy.
