AT-KABUL: Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development on Sunday said an agreement for 22 development projects worth Afs 225 million has been singed with provincial councils of twelve provinces.
These development projects will be implemented in Daikundi, Faryab, Ghor, Jawzjan, Kabul, Kunduz, Kunar, Laghman, Nangarhar, Nuristan, Panjshir and Parwan provinces, said a ministry statement.
The projects will totally cost 225 million Afs funded by the Ministry of Finance and the Indian government. The development projects entail construction of schools, mosques, roads, bridges, water dams and fortification walls. Ten of the projects will be implemented with a 10 percent contribution of local residents.
By implementation of these projects, 76,000 temporary jobs will be created in those provinces. Running public-utility projects is considered to be momentous in balancing urban and rural life and amenities, which could also stimulate economy in the rural population.
