AT Kabul: Pakistan’s Special Envoy, Mohammad Sadiq Khan, along with a high-level delegation, met with Afghanistan’s Foreign Minister, Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi, to discuss enhancing bilateral relations, trade, and transit cooperation between the two neighboring nations.
During the meeting, both sides underscored the importance of strengthening diplomatic engagements and addressing mutual challenges to facilitate economic growth and regional stability. Foreign Minister Muttaqi reaffirmed Afghanistan’s commitment to fostering positive relations with Pakistan, highlighting the shared interests in political, economic, trade, and transit sectors. He also emphasized the need for improved government coordination to enhance trade and transit exchanges, facilitate the movement of people, and resolve existing challenges between the two countries.
Pakistan’s envoy, Mohammad Sadiq Khan, conveyed the greetings of Pakistan’s Foreign Minister and reiterated Pakistan’s dedication to strengthening ties with Afghanistan. He acknowledged Afghanistan’s improved security situation as beneficial not only for Pakistan but for the broader region. He further stated that his visit aimed to enhance cooperation in political, economic, trade, and transit affairs while addressing mutual concerns.
