AT Monitoring Desk-KABUL: Pakistani army hasn’t stopped construction of military installations in Angoor Ada area of Paktika province, said Afghan border police chief.
Rahmatullah Raufi in an interview with Radio Azadi urged the government to resolve the issue through diplomatic ways.
Earlier this month, clash erupted between Afghan and Pakistani forces in Angoor Ada after Pakistani forces allegedly tried to construct military installation in the area inside Afghanistan’s territory during night time.
Raufi said that Pakistani forces are periodically working on construction of the establishments in the area. “Efforts are underway to resolve the issue through diplomatic ways. National Security Council (NSC), the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs are discussing the issue with Pakistani officials,” he added.
Nader Khan Katawazi, a lawmaker from Paktika province, also confirmed that Pakistan’s forces are constructing military installations in Angoor Ada covertly during night. He urged the government to build pressure on Pakistan to restrain from building military establishments inside Afghanistan’s territory. “Otherwise, people of Paktika province are ready to push back Pakistani forces from the area,” he added.
In the meantime, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said that they are trying to resolve the issue through diplomatic ways.
