AT Kabul: The Pakistan Institute for Peace Studies reported on Wednesday that 48 terrorist attacks took place across four provinces of Pakistan in October of this year.
Most of these attacks occurred in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, which left at least 100 dead and over 80 injured.
The Pakistan Institute for Peace Studies released its monthly report On Wednesday about terrorist attacks in the country.
From 48 recorded terrorist attacks by this institute, 35 took place in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and 9 in Balochistan.
Most of the victims were Pakistani security forces and civilians. According to the institute’s statistics, at least 52 security personnel and 36 civilians were killed in October.
The Pakistani newspaper Express Tribune also reported that 337 military personnel and civilians have been killed in terrorist attacks in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in October of this year.
The report indicates that the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) intends to extend its influence to Punjab and Balochistan, especially in areas bordering Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The report added that Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan, along with the Hafiz Gul Bahadur group and some local Taliban factions, have been involved in these terrorist activities.
The Balochistan Liberation Army and some other rebel groups also carried out eight attacks in Pakistan in October, In addition to the above groups.
Islamabad claims that militants, especially TTP are organizing and executing attacks against Pakistani forces from Afghan territory, however the Afghan interim government officials deny these claims.
