Kabul: Pakistan Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has said that Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) is still carrying out terrorist activities from Afghanistan.
Speaking to media he said that despite Pakistan’s good relations with the Taliban government in Kabul, still the Afghan authorities have not succeeded in stopping the use of their territory in attacks on Pakistan.
Referring to his recent trip to Kabul, he said that although the Afghan government had promised not to use the country’s territory militarily against other countries, especially Pakistan, the intensity of terrorism against us has not yet decreased.
Khwaja Asif also stated that some countries that do not have good relations with Pakistan help TTP in transferring military equipment left by Americans in Afghanistan.
He stated: “I clearly felt that the Afghan Taliban want to respond to our concerns. I found them to be real, they want to help Pakistan but they can’t afford it. Afghan Taliban wants peace in Afghanistan and Pakistan and they never want chaos.”
Khawaja Asif also talked about the exclusion of women from education and work in Afghanistan, and said that if they exclude a large part of the population from the economy, they will destroy themselves.
The government of Pakistan has always accused the current government of Afghanistan of cooperating with the TTP, but these accusations have also been denied many times by Afghanistan.
