AT Monitoring Desk-KABUL: After a 10-month break, Pakistani military in new wave of cross-Durand Line incursions shelled 16 rockets into south-eastern Paktika province on Sunday night but no casualties were reported, said security officials on Monday.
The Interior Ministry spokesman, Sediq Seddiqi, said there were concerns over the shelling by the Pakistani military into Afghan soil.
Quoted by TOLOnews, Seddiqi said rocket attacks had stopped in Nangarhar and Kunar provinces but 16 rockets were fired into Paktika province on Sunday night, adding that the rockets landed in non-residential areas.
He said Afghanistan wants and immediate end to such attacks.
Kunar governor, Wahidullah Kalimzai, told newsmen that the Pakistani military has stopped rocket attacks into Afghanistan after the Ministry of Foreign Affairs recently summoned the Pakistani ambassador in Kabul to explain about the issue.
A spokesman from Foreign Affairs Ministry, Ahmad Shekib Mustaghni said the government is determined to settle the issue with Pakistan, adding that the attacks resulted in killing of four civilians, including a woman, and two others who were wounded.
He said the Pakistani ambassador has vowed to share the concerns of Kabul with Islamabad.
The first cross-Durand Line attack was launched in 2010. Later on Pakistani military reportedly fired thousands of rockets into eastern parts of Afghanistan, and some of them resulted in civilian casualties.
