AT-KABUL: Protesting the cross-Durand Line attacks, the governor of eastern Kunar province said that Pakistani paramilitary forces have once again resumed cross-line shelling and inflicted heavy casualties on civilians.
Addressing a press conference, Wahidullah Kalimzai said that for the past five years Pakistani security forces have targeted civilians in Kunar.
Condemning the cross-line rocket attacks, the governor said that many families left their native towns in search for safer places. “Most of displaced families are from Sarkano, Naray and Angam areas. They left their homes because Pakistani military is firing rockets at these areas. Pakistani forces had fired 43 mortar shells in the past few days,” he said.
He said that one person was injured last night in the rockets attack by Pakistani troops.
Responding to a question, Kalimzai said that he had brought the issue into the notice of high-ranking security officials in Kabul City and is waiting for positive response. He assured people of counter-attack capability, saying that Afghan security forces were able to protect the country and defeat the anti-Afghanistan elements.
He said that some neighboring countries do not want stable Afghanistan that’s why they are using insurgency as a tool.
