KABUL: Pakistani Premier Imrah Khan says he is in dialogue with the Taliban leadership to form an inclusive government in Afghanistan.
The decision to begin dialogue with the Taliban on formation of the government was made after Khan held meetings with the Afghanistan’s Central Asian neighbors.
“After meetings in Dushanbe with leaders of Afghanistan’s neighbors and especially a lengthy discussion with Tajikistan’s President Emomali Rahmon, I have initiated a dialogue with the Taliban for an inclusive Afghan govt to include Tajiks, Hazaras and Uzbeks,” Khan said in a tweet.
The Pakistani Prime Minister termed formation of inclusive government as the ultimate solution for peace and stability in Afghanistan. “After 40 years of conflict, this inclusivity will ensure peace and a stable Afghanistan, which is in the interest not only of Afghanistan but the region as well,” he added.
But an official at the ministry of information and culture, Saeed Khosti voiced reaction over Khan’s remarks as saying that “Islamic Emirate has established a cabinet which includes people from every ethnicity. There is no problem in this regard.”
