AT-KABUL: A photo exhibition titled ‘Black and White’ was held in western Herat province on Monday, displaying different aspects of vulnerable Afghans’ life including their miserable living condition, particularly in remote provinces.
Organizers of the exhibition said it was aimed at delivering the message of vulnerable Afghans to leaders of the unity government, and make them aware of the fact that their reluctance can result of worsen situation of people if they did not come up with concrete and proper measures in this regard.
An organizer of the exhibition, Firoz Mashuf, said that 103 photos were displayed in the exhibition which mostly focused on people’s criticism about delayed election process, delay in cabinet formation and increasing poverty, joblessness in Afghanistan.
He said the photos were captured during presidential election, presidential campaigns and from vulnerable children and adults in different parts of the country particularly in a number of remote areas.
Mashuf said Afghans’ life is still ‘black and white’ but majority of Afghans still live in the hope of a colorful tomorrow when they see commitments and promises by leaders of the national unity government.
The acting governor of Herat and a number of civil society activists and journalists were present on the occasion. The participants termed the exhibition fruitful and important for overcoming people’s challenges in Afghanistan and grabbing the attention of government’s high slots to notice their plight.
Earlier, an exhibition was held with the same message which displayed the eager and interest of Afghans for peace as well as their way of life in different parts of this war-weary country.
